The romantic comedy by Bernard Slade tells the story of a couple, Doris and George, both married to others, who develop a 25-year long relationship. Every year they meet at a country inn and spend a weekend together. The relationship evolves into emotional intimacy over the two and a half decades, and they become much more than clandestine lovers. Though they meet only once a year, they become important parts of one another's lives.
